[Someone's cooking. It's fairly obviously from the steady CHOP! CHOP! CHOP! the journal picks up, the knife a constant drum against the cutting board. There's also the soft bubbling from what is presumably a pot of water on the stove. A creaky oven door is opened before something metal slides in.
